Rosh Koch

Collapse

It’s 530 am, I just left my client at the ER and I’m waiting for my chili cheese dogs at the nearby gas station.
I haven’t slept in almost two days; haven’t slept WELL in weeks. I am tired of the exhaustion.
I’ve been a candle burning from both ends for many years– my wick sizzling like a fuse and the wax is TNT.
The coffee smells  burnt. Undertended and overexposed. The taste of motor oil sloshing in styrofoam.
I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the stainless steel wainscoting. A pathetic and horrific sight.
All the pressure has been building. All the weight has piled up. I feel gravity pulling me down.
A collapse feels imminent, either under the physical weight of my body or the millstone around my soul.

A few thoughts stitched together.
