Velvet Angel

We lie in the shade of the maple tree,
My beloved angel of twenty three,
Whose lap is soft as a velvet dream,
A quiet brook and a silver stream.

I look into her deep blue contented eyes,
To look and see how heaven sighs,
Forever warm as she strokes my hair,
Hopelessly in love with my lady fair.

The world is an ocean of eternal bliss,
A clear sailing as I rise above the mist,
I see an angel smiling down at me,
My sweet velvet angel so is she.
