To Love and Music

To Love and Music

Love and music so much the same
Life is supple for them they blame
Molding spirits into shapes and sounds
Love’s no mercy climbs out of bounds

Sounds invade the soul suffice
Peace is a bird of paradise
Love calls from distant sites
Sapping strength for her delights

Love and music are all of life
Played by bands of drum and fife
Hail to the conquering love’s supreme
Life is fragile and all too clean

Baptized by the tears of love
Battered by the witch’s glove
But love we cannot live without
And music spreads our hearts about
