The Struggling

Of life on an upward climb,
trudging along sacred trails
with weighty packs digging in
the weary muscles in the back,
toning up the muscles in the legs
with the love of labor in the heart,
a joyful attitude about the struggles,
building bricks for the self esteem,
the stairway to the previous self,
the house to be called a sacred temple,
a place reserved for God to enter
in a heart that is full of joy
and a mind that is constructed
from the sweat of the struggles
and a brotherhood formed by
the lovers of God and labor
as they approach the
threshold of their dreams,

the struggling,
the missing link
of the heirs of fortune,
wealth begotten through
no effort of their own,
deprived of the joy
of labor, the stairway
to self esteem
leading them to the
depreciation of worth,
the degradation of the self;
an outsider of the
fraternal brothers of
labor, the builders
of their own fortune.

What a pity for the poor rich man,
deprived of the struggles that
would have built him up.
