The Light

The Light

I traveled afar through secret caves
Around dark corners and hidden stairs
Into the silent abyss, a sinister vision of
Demons flapping their anxious wings

I kissed the hand of Satan at my door
I surrendered to the darkness around me
My faith wore a cloak of tattered dreams
Of hope flying off into a nocturnal maze

I stumbled, but yet I surged ahead
Each ongoing step restored my hope
Something inside kept shouting at me,
“Proceed with faith and boldness.”

The light finally came to me around the bend
That beautiful sight, that magnificent glow
That thrilling paradise, that majestic vision
That dream come true, that heroic rescue
An ode to that internal voice
That never fades away
