The First Glance
The first glance from the beloved’s eyes
was from the deeds of the heavenly wise,
the authors of affinity that hover above
and find man and woman to be united in love.
They plot out their mission on this very day,
February fourteenth, to look down and survey,
and place romantic thoughts in their willing minds
and in their somber hearts a light that shines.
