Sea battle at Navarino on October 20, 1827, by Ivan Aivazovski

The Disillusioned

The Disillusioned

Deep down where the sun shines in
Through sacred halls and glossy walls
To a flattened bottom mirrored upward
The good that comes in goes back out
What else can become of it?

Through creation, man is a saint
A ray of sunshine that never fades
Who lives among the sacred few
Far away from the maddening crowds
A perfect design at the onset of conception
A disciple with a radiating glow
That circulates and spreads his peace
As God his creator smiles from up above

But for some there is a black spot
Hidden away from the sun
Where that eternal sunshine can’t reach
Where madness grows like the plague
And looks for a way to get out
And looks for others to join in

The God he obeys didn’t shine through
He put a rifle in his hands and
Told him to shoot in reverence to him.
All who don’t see his way must perish
In the name of God,
The God that was invented by man
The light that didn’t get through
Those dark corridors of the soul
The God that became the only one
To all the disillusioned
The highest of all false idols
The holy one, the one of hatred

I was thinking about those savages that go around killing innocent people, those terrorists that call themselves holy.
