The Cultivation of Joy

The Cultivation of Joy

When joy is planned through an earthly conscious effort, the pleasure from it is limited to a cultivated response and not from a natural stimulus, such as feeling the grace of God within us, that infinite, sub-conscious, source of joy.  It is in that direct contact with it, that lifts us higher than any conscious effort could have done.
Whole-hearted laughter is at the summit of pleasure, that instant gratification of the senses.  When I laugh, I can feel a non-offensive joy that reaches every crevice of my being.  It is like I’m in direct communication with the Holy Spirit, free of any restraint, the way God had intended for me to be.
