The Spirit of the Plains, by Sydney Long
Robert L. Martin

Running With Gusto

All is calm and all is clear
When voices speak from upward tier.

Power surges and assurance rolls
When a new spirit calls to empty souls.

Heaven speaks in a language unknown
When her blossoms become fully grown.

Music takes over in the name of confidence
When doubt withers and rides with eloquence.

Musicians revel at what heaven brought
When searching and finding what is sought.

The spirit is speaking into the ear of my heart
Getting inside and breaking barriers apart.

Alas, the power of music is the guiding hand
That carried me upward to the promised land.

Now here I am as my spirit came alive
Running with gusto to the music I drive.

I am now a vessel of thought and dexterity,
Of a new power, strength, and electricity.
My spirit came alive. Hallelujah.
