Resilience

We of the brave and fearless sort,
When our visions seem to be cut short,
When we stumble along the charted way,
We pick ourselves up, comes another day.

What is a storm but a prelude to a rainbow.
From the dark there’s a brightness to follow.
Setbacks give us strength to continue on.
Our brightest days lie ahead and go beyond.

Obstacles are signs to keep forging ahead.
Thickets and thorns, our avenues we tread.
We climb and claw our ways ‘til we reach,
The summit of our aspirations we foresee.
We dusted ourselves off and made our way.
Without resilience,
How else could we have kept going?

As featured in "The Belt and Beyond."
