Rays

From a cozy sitting atop the frozen horizon,
‘Til a compliant drifting to an upright position,
The man called the sun grows ever stronger,
Closing winter’s doors as the days grow longer,
On a mission of clemency of a heroic intent,
Must be an angel on high that heaven sent.

The most merciful child of Mother Nature
Casts its rays through a thick forest aperture,
As the sunning gives rise to the greens again,
And all winter’s brutal assaults come to an end.
Hail to the conquering hero called the sun
And its rays that send winter on the run.
