Philadelphia

Philadelphia of yore on this very day,
Upon our chasing the British away,
On July fourth, seventeen seventy six,
An assemblage of delegates in the mix,
Came to sign a declaration of independence.

Freedom is a word but not only a word.
It is a feeling in the heart without a gird.
If a despot is the one who fastens a chain,
Unfasten yours first, then him you can blame.
For despots can only rule the self defeated,
The ones with no fight in their hearts unseated,
Who gave up on themselves a long time ago.
