Our Abode Aloft

Our Abode Aloft

We’re standing here on a grassy knoll
You and I together for what we know
We gaze at the bulging clouds drifting by
And pick a spot above where eagles fly

We see a landing pad high up in the cloud
Where angels float by with their wings allowed
We have nothing but time up on our hands
We can float up and see those far away lands

We rise up toward the sun that sky so new
We feel so light as we look up to the blue
We sight our landing and gather around
We sit on our cloud and hear not a sound

Our place in the sky is where we land our dreams
We can see the shapes of crystal flowing streams
We feel the soft running water between our toes
A sign saying of how our imagination grows
You and I sitting on a white cloud so soft
Taking in the air from our abode aloft
