Ice Clouds Shedding

Ice clouds shed upon the barren ground
and everything turns white from all around.
Forests dress up in their winter garbs
covered in the snows from the icy shards.

The forests sleep for a long winter’s nap
until it’s time for the running of the maple sap.
But for now we wait for the ensuing warmth
to soothe the pangs of the winter storm.

I wrote this for the Belt and Beyond. (winter issue)
