Floating Truths

Floating Truths

On your wanderings, have you lost yourself?
Have you roamed through thick bushes
Catering to those with booming voices?
Have you brought pleasure to the discontented?

Have you fallen like dead leaves from solid trees?
Was truth the truth when you grew mightily?
Did your pride sail away with the northern wind?
Did you fall upon those in need
Or those in vain?

Have you provided safety for
Those who make up stories?
The convincing ones that use
Elegant words to run from danger?

You are a beautiful steadfast reality
You lose your luster
When your colors begin to fade
As you blend into different desires
And different realities
Please stay as yourself
Your obstinate mighty self
