Satisfaction
Every soul rests at the river bed on a sultry summer’s day. Every soul rests with a drink of cool water, a gift from heaven’s mercy that kisses away the pain of parched lips, punished by the eyes of the sun. Some souls rest dreaming that all men and beasts commune peacefully at the river while knowing that they don’t. Some souls rest thinking that they do and become frustrated when they never will. Some souls rest watching the angry river swallow up everyone that stops at its banks. Some souls rest in a vacuum where the sounds of a murmuring brook are too harsh and deafening to them. Satisfaction comes in different sizes, depending upon what fits the desires of each and everyone.
