Father Brown in Red

Father Brown in red with fire in his soul
is lost in desire with his passion out of control.
With Mary in full view while holding back his lust
he does what his academic book said he must.

He holds it back until the fire reaches to his core,
his feet burning from the coals on the bottom floor,
his passion locked up inside clawing to get out
as it twists his mind with his faith in doubt.

As Mary lies upon her bed in the state of undress,
Father Brown could let himself go and then confess.
The pain of abstinence is reaching into his groin.
Lose his faith and look to the force of nature to join?

Poor Father Brown, a victim of his religious teachings
in contention with nature’s instinstive preachings,
an alien to the natural world of procreation,
must keep his faith for his entire duration.

So the book says he must conform
to something that hurts with his pleasure torn,
and the hurt won’t go away
until death takes him away to stay.

I love all religions. (the pathway to the Almighty) If he invented it I would like it much better. But since it was invented by man, I have some doubts about the rules that are invented by man.
