Expanding from the Nonexpanded

Old geezer phones are the greatest in the world,
nothing to be expanded upon for Old Geezer Earl,
no super invention to make him scratch his head
and wonder what the hell’s going on up ahead,

no step two when you don’t know step number one,
no expanding from the nonexpanded, no none,!
just making a phone call and talking like before
when there was no step two and you knew the score.

Out in the cloud goes what you’re trying to say;
out there where you don’t give a damn today,
out there where genius expands from his expansion,
the expansion far away from your comprehension.

Poor old Earl, lost in the conundrum of electronics
where geniuses keep inventing and getting their kicks
and making the road challenging for other geniuses
and leaving poor old Earl lost in the intelligent mess.

Poor old Earl who just wants to make a call
and not worry about what’s in the cloud and all,
just wants to talk to his friend
and not worry where his words will end.
Poor Old Geezer Earl, lost in the intelligent rain,
the expanding of what is expanded and unexplained.
