Death Before Death

Death of the spirit in defiance of God’s will in us,
plants the fear of the unknown of life after death,
the downward spiral of the lust for life,
the helplessness of losing control
over something we can’t control,
losing our self-reliance inside,
the strength within us that
prides us on to never give up
as the pistons start running out of steam
leading to the
lethargy of the engines that pump the spirit,
bringing on the resignation of life before death.

The losing of the will to fight
the precursor to death
while waiting for the Grim Reaper
to inject the venom inside is in defiance
of God’s will that urges us on to fight the battle,
telling us to focus on the good within us
and not let the future dampen our spirits.

Death is a stepping stone on
the pathway to immortality,
the freeing of the breath from its restless tides
that it will rise and expand and find
God, the master of our lives
who preached to us in our spirit
to seek the secret of death through
the heart of life and bring the mystery
into us and let it unfold
through the spirit in us.

“So, lift your heads high and
long to see the mystery of the
afterlife unfold before you, my friends.
Please do not die before you die.”
