Contagion

When it all seems lacks good fortune,
Contagion with sad eyes in consortion,
Gloom fills the room as misery sets in
And all’s in wonder where laughter’s been.

As bantering begins its climb out of sorrow,
Laughter moves on to the next in a row.
It touches all like the merciful rain,
On so parched a field, alas, no more pain.
Contagion, that playful wonderful remedy,
Has its domino effect, so laughter ‘tis the key.
