Poetic In Heart

A love that never was

He was the one I never had,
A love that left me feeling sad.
Six years gone, but still I see,
The ghost of what we used to be.

I miss the feeling, not his face,
The love that filled an empty space.
To know someone was truly mine,
To hold him close, to feel divine.

But I was just a moment in time,
A distraction in another rhyme.
He loved another, while I was there,
A fleeting comfort, a love unfair.

How foolish was I, how blind to see,
He was never really here with me.
I gave him all, he took with ease,
Then left me broken, begging, please.

Now, I’m just a shadow of the man I was,
Longing for a love that never was.
The loneliness cuts, it carves me deep,
A sorrow that I cannot keep.

Friends and family, they hold me tight,
But they can’t see the endless night.
Inside my heart, a void remains,
A silent scream, a thousand pains.

Sometimes I break, I fall apart,
Wishing I could heal my heart.
But the pieces don’t fit, they’re sharp, they’re cold,
And I’m left with nothing, just stories untold.

This poem captures the bittersweet feeling of longing for a love that never truly belonged to me. It's about missing the connection and warmth, not the person himself. Even after six years, the memories linger like a haunting echo. I reflect on the pain of being just a moment in someone else's life, left with a heart full of unfulfilled love and a deep sense of loneliness.
