(2014)
I was like a rain cloud over a small garden and dammit if you weren’t that garden so full of flowers that I fell in love
I’ve always been at the very least a little caught up on everything about you This idea of you
I see words screaming for attention etched in the lines of your face Let me look closer
The hands of this watch haven’t moved since the last time you did and I’m not sure if I’m ready to hear the ticking
I have whispered your name into the air so many times it has become the breeze that blows
Everyday I lived out a song written just for you But you could
Just when I get back on my feet you pass on by and I lose my footing Again
I would write a sweet poem and title it with your name if I loved you at all
Everyone sees god in a different light but I was born without eyes
I see no joyous rebirth in spring for autumn will bring another death I see no joyous rebirth
Autumn sneaks in preceding dormancy Leaves take on new beauty with nothing left in them but a fa… Individually insignificant
There is poetry in nature better left to be spoken wordlessly by the breeze
I spend my nights wishing on every star in the sky that you are alive and well
I hope this is postmarked before my death certificate is dat… but you’ll know why if it is or if it isn’t If you get this in time
All that I know how to do is write about death without dying and write about life
