Lowercasemmmmmm

frankenstein's wishbone

this love dies freely and it dies for life
two broken cadavers can never hold truth
when meaning is a carried cross behind the eyes
there’s none but filigree around the cages of bad memories

your monster was created in semaphore
its colloquial drawl a mute catalyst
a fine gutter where drunken urine reflects the stars
and all else their world stinks of stale sweat and mildew

where sorrow rests its eager head
its faith is a trawl over the lines of ghost faces
its workhouse weave a candle snuffed
a black widows sanity droops beyond fallen lace

a treasure lost and gone for good
no recompense in life just death
a cotton sheet covers a frame once so chaste
a second skin born after its final breath

this cloud of foul love floats inside my chest
its mercurial talons shred my insides
periodically surfacing to find comforting release
its valley a steep home to etched ribs and torn sinew

how crass and vulgar it is to be young
that one should express their opinion in conversation
that spiral vortex of acceptance that grips and draws
into a world brief of love and care though long in temptation

my mind drifts into its parallel prism
as the chatter dips to the worldly whiles
the mechanics of forced socialism
a tankard of pewter and all sorrows drowned

low foreheads and hanging jowell’s
a world replete with dishonesty and woe
my dead satin eyes meet your hard growl
as I stand obscured in your darkness

emptiness
you’ve scored my skin
written on my eyes
my nameless heart beats lone

our fire blows and spits
loud crackles as hot ashes jump
we are dead wooden bullets
we both snapped frankenstein’s wishbone

a love affair that's gone awry, though still pulses through your entire body with a sublime ecstasy that forces you realise : your soul is dead, you breathe and walk but you're no more alive than your broken heart.
