Lowercasemmmmmm

dad (abridged)

Every sin I’ve ever committed
Every bottom I’ve sank to
Every darkness that I’ve bathed in
And every bottle downed, too
Every person I’ve ever hurt
Every action that dwells in shame
I did them all in your name
Are proud of the disease I became

Because of you I followed a path
Parallel to none except dark light
The tears I’ve shed and pills I’ve took
In the end your still here, just as night
You broke me down to confusion
When love should of been all that I known
I’m the darkness you wore and inflicted
Are you glad, like a cancer I’ve grown

You robbed me of my money
You robbed me of given gifts
You stole and gave away my things
Choosing to justify it with grins
And now when I see you
I know your older and I really should forgive
But I can’t, I’ve tried, what’s done is done
Too much dark waters flowed under that bridge

(2013)

A poem inspired by the uneasy relationship my father and I share.
Its a shame,but then again...most things are.
