A Story to Tell

In telling a story, it’s right to say a thing or two,
For every story has a thing to share with you.
In this story, people hide feelings, as you well know.
And in this story, love suffers, it cannot grow.
These people are broken,
They have forgotten how to be whole.
So the story begins...
It is as it should be a warm spring day.
Like a day found in the earlier part of May.
Love, true love appears to be in the air.
There she sits, on a wooden chair.
A lovely girl just combing her hair,
Her hair is brown and short and silky smooth.
She is as beautiful as a girl in a kissing booth.
There is brightness and glitter in her eyes.
For there she sits waiting,
Waiting and wondering why,
It has taken so long to find the right guy.
She blames the other heroes she has been with.
For in her mind of course, there is no recourse.
After all she is truly beautiful and a wondrous gift.
She has been told this before and again.
Our beautiful girl is beyond compare.
So in this story, she awaits him there.
In this place filled with hardship and solitude.
In her mind she spends most of her time.
There inside is her life,
The life she can never let go.
A life that keeps her alone,
The only life she will ever know.
After all, by her birth, her beauty, it is only right.
For her to shine like the moon,
That at night she radiates with her beauty’s light.
Alone, though she sits, she waits for her love.
Sitting and wondering if she’s suffered enough.
She thinks it is time for her luck to change.
She feels she is ready to share and give.
She wants to have a man and with him to live.
She cannot however touch and heal this pain.
A hero travels to her through hell and rain,
She cannot see that his life has been hard.
That he is not well, that he is ill.
All that maters to her is to get her way.
To possess him, to have him do her will,
He tries to share with her his love,
He realizes that it is too late,
Love will not be enough.
And so it has always been... as this story comes to its end.
A beautiful girl sits on a wooden chair
A lovely girl just combing her hair

Inspired while thinking about what happens when it gets too late, set in your ways,
love opportunity has passed someone by and these lyrics came to mind.
