You came today and choose me
And to your home we did go
I thought that I was special
Of others, I did not know
Together, we spent our time
Together we did play
We sat and talked and listened
Spoke words i could not say
Each time that we were finished
Away I had to go
Of the things you did without me
Of these things I did not know
You made me feel so special
Eyes on you I gave myself
Naive and full of wonder
Blind to others on the shelf
I don’t know what I was to you
Of this I could not see
But on my little shelf held tight
You were the world to me
I would love to sit and drink
With the hope to bring some joy
But this I can not do
For I was always just a toy
