I held hands, with the devil today
He led me to the gates of hell, then he walked away.
I stood for a while and pondered the world i saw inside
With wonder in mind and the, what if I were to die
I walked away from hell, in my eyes a far away look
And saw the city of gold with a will that he had shook.
The great expanse of distance swallowed all sense of time
One foot in front of the other I began the mighty climb
The years have been so squandered, have quickly gone to past
The distance once so great
No longer seams so vast
I continue on my path the end I now can see
Time and distance play a game, they just won’t let me be
