Nights out with the boys
Slow dancing with your sweetheart
From both, you’ll depart
Ocean swim, skiing, whiskey
All these will be fantasy
Hard to say goodbye
To all the things you care for
Each day, more and more
In the end there’s nothing left
Only whispers, soft, bereft
Hard to bid adieu
To all the great friends you know
It’s their time to go
And soon, you alone survive!
Fewer friends but still alive
Hard to wake every morning
When all your joints are hurting
Tis just part of growing old
Watching nightfall take its hold
But all is not lost
Grandkids still brighten your day
Skies not always gray
Sunsets are more beautiful
Million things make you grateful
Though nightfall deepens each day
Life’s warmth and light find their way
Quiet moments let joy grow
Thankful hearts ever aglow!
