The Trash

The past, I put away in a paper bag

And threw it with the next-day’s trash

I went to bed feeling good,

But sleep didn’t come in a flash

For I remembered the olden days

When we’re young, hasty and brash

When the whole  world was at our feet

Full of energy, but always short of cash!

This is the third in a series of poems I have written about the past - "The Past", "Twilight" and now "The Trash"

Ha ha ha I see you added a touch of humor to this one. I agree we need to let go of the past and look to the future. You must have been thinking a lot about this lately to write about it three times.

Thanks for liking Charlotte. It is a work in progress, I would like to write a few more on the subject.

@Stuart Munro Thank you!
