Her eyes, the color of midnight,
Glared at him, an eternity
He froze in his tracks, full of fright,
Unsure and feeling so guilty
Then she grinned and his face turned white
She looked at him mysteriously
Dread swept o’er him, showed in his eyes,
But he can’t move, though hard he tries
She stepped in close, his breath caught tight
He thought the end was surely near
But then she smiled with all her might,
“Relax, my dear, you’ve naught to fear!”
She tossed her hair, her mood so light,
“Just messing with you—you’re in the clear!”
He sighed, relieved, and gave a cheer,
She winked and said, “Next time, buy beer!”
So he learned something for later
When in doubt—just bring a lager!
With a grin, he swore to comply
For peace at home, he will supply!
