Autumn’s here again, lawns are turning brown
Red and golden yellow leaves piled up high
Mist in our breath, in our faces a frown
For cold air is here, winter standing by
From the closet comforter pure goose down
To the flowered shorts our fondest goodbye
Off to bed all covered from foot to crown
Our toes freezing we need no lullaby!
But carols soonest the airwaves will drown
Festive uplifting songs will make us sigh
Fondly recall once in a little town
A Son was born under the clear night sky!
