Ashen Escapee

“At night, in the library, the ghosts have voices.”
— Alberto Manguel

A Limerick Just for Laughs

There once was a man from the sanitarium
Who swore he’d escape through the aquarium
He swam with the fish
Made a bold final wish
But wound up next door in the crematorium!

And the man’s ashes, now free of bacterium
They were spread in a grandiose planetarium
The stars made him bright
But in strange, swirling light
Every night, he haunted the place in delirium!

Well, his ghost drifted on through the solarium
And lingered a while next door in the herbarium
But folks ran in fright
When he glowed in the night
So, they sealed him shut in the columbarium!
