Magdalen Weeping, by Master of the Legend of the Magdalen

**Moonbeam’s Lament**

As moonlight, I hide the sun’s embrace,
And dew, I fade upon the fields of space.
A fleeting spark, extinguished in the breeze,
A shadow cast, a soul that seeks release.

Like whispers carried on the ether’s breath,
I yearned to touch the flame, defy my death.
But fate, relentless in its cruel decree,
Tore us apart, a chasm vast and free.

In silent agony, I drift alone,
A mere reflection, but a heart of stone.
My plaintive cries, lost in the cosmic night,
A moonbeam’s lament, an endless blight.

Though separation weighs upon my soul,
Your memory lingers, an unyielding toll.
A ray of luna, doomed to shine in vain,
I bear the weight of love’s eternal pain.
