As dreams take flight in another sight
That does not come by way of eyes;
In twilight dreams and deeper scenes
Are heard the screams and mournful cries.
Some dreams ring true from out of the blue
And fly into sight like a wounded bird;
They linger awhile like a coat out of stile
Then utter phrases that shouldn’t be heard.
Some are so dark, cold and stark,
Utterly blind to a happier day.
As you talk to the dead, while in your head,
Or to those friends that you’ll betray.
Yes,
As dreams take flight in another sight
That does not come by way of eyes.
In twilight dreams we hear their screams
But the sounds, to you, are Lullabies.
Then,
As you think you awake you see the stake
About to be thrust into your chest!
It’s just a Vampire’s dream, a moonless scene,
In the dark of a coffin, during daily rest.
