Feelings
You tell me you’re the wierd one,
The side you normally hide.
But I love when we are wrapped in the red blanket late at night,
And your kissing my cheeks with butterfly kisses...
That make me just a tad mad with laughter
And for a moment it’s just you and me, for the world goes to nothing but silence.
And when the sunrises on those days I want to watch it with you,
To see your face lighten .
To see the sun rise bring about this look in your eyes
That says back to me we made it yet another day on a world not fully made for people like us.
And in that stillness where I walk my cats with you,
And you act silly and brave and hold my hand
I fall deeply quicker than I ever have...
At first I really fought it off,
I pushed you away.
And told you to go home on that day,
When my feelings changed.
But after crying in my bed head pressed into your chest while you gave out to my brain
For making me this way,
I remembered that while the world isn’t always on our side.
Yet some people surprise you by being your person,
And I know its only new and I get this is so fresh.
But darling when I look at you,
I get this feeling in my chest.
That whispers on my heartbeat...
That we can finally rest...
In the arms of someone who has us,
And isn’t playing any games.
And I just hope one day
