Rock to My Hurricane

The despair and pain,
As my life fell to pieces,
Lost in the blizzard,
Of all my wrong choices,
I was on my knees,
Begging and pleading,
Asking, failing,
And all the while desperately needing.
When God sent him,
The beam of life,
To calm the hurricane,
To ease the rising strife.
He was my blessing,
The love in which he shaped,
The beam of light
That helped me find my escape.
He helped me up,
And freed my broken wings.
Showed me the path of light,
And taught me how to sing.
He showed me I could dance,
Without ever being afraid.
Explained how to shine,
Without ever threatening to fade.
He became the sturdy rock,
To save me from the hurricane.
He put out the burning strife,
Before it caused any pain.
I am forever indebted to him,
Forever falling for his grace,
He will always have my heart,
Healed from the pain he erased.
