Third Places and Fourth Walls
When they locked down the third places
(Houses of worship)
And made the first two places
(Home and work)
Into one place
(Homework)
They got rid of all three
So, the world as we knew it
No longer exists
And the world we’ve gone back to is like
Virtually touring the set of a cancelled production
Where the essentials of life are just props
And when all of life is lived
Behind the fourth wall
Which, thanks to nanotech, fits right in our hands
We’ve got the whole world in our hands
