A Thanksgiving Sonnet

Psalm 136;1

This wonderful day called Thanksgiving,
with feast, with family, and Parades.
We’re so thankful just to be living,
to see all the progress we’ve made.

It marks  the beginning of  the Holidays,
and what  joy it brings to our hearts.
We’re thankful  to God in so many ways,
we’re grateful to just be a part.

It brings back memories of days of old,
spending time with family and friends.
There’s a great many stories to be told,
we wish that it never would end.

So much to rejoice about, so much to say,
As we gather on this Thanksgiving Day.

Reflections of Thanksgiving day.
Each line does not contain exactly ten syllables which I believe
is the formula for a sonnet, but it’s the thought that counts.
