Listen

I can’t hear you
I’ve tried to part the read sea
Of judgement too many times,
but it finally consumes me.

I can’t hear you
I cry out to you each night
Mind an ever– expanding galaxy
Of false hope.

I can’t see you
Is he in the way?
My heart consumed with love
Blind to your gentle call.

I can’t feel you
Have I forsakened myself with his touch?
is shame disconnecting our souls?
I try to push back the thought
But I can’t.

The beads in my hand
Remind me of your love
They hold memories of my family
Nothing can come above you.

I can hear you,
But I will not open my ears.
Will you tell me to give everything up,
and follow you?

I can feel your effortless embrace.
You pull me closer,
The blanket wraps around me
and I will never let it go.
