TO BE...continued Part 17

Final Entry

Raining again and makes me want to listen
To the gentle tapping of the steady rhythm
Bringing thoughts of cuddling up with  a good book
or getting between the sheets for a nip and tuck.

Water the earth, moisten my soul
Come down steady and make the creek roll
Roll to the river and on the the ocean
Over the rocks with steady motion.

Breaking them down into sand
Like my heart has been broken again and again,
till it like the beaches is lined with remains
of shells and sand and waves of pain.

The end has come to this collection
of my true love and his reflection
I’ve cried and mourned and now I’m healed
He has returned and in my heart is sealed.

I’ll cry no more for loss or pain
I’ll sit and listen to the pattering rain.
He’s here with me so peace and a sigh
Lead me to a land of sweet bye and bye.

(2014)

This morning I am finishing a season of poetry sparked by the love which came alive in me from the memories of my true love, Jeff. He has made the transition from earthly life now and is a free spirit able to move and enjoy freedom outside of time and physical restraint.
