Day 28: A Critique of Richard Blanco
For those who care about form
He’s a 'poet’
but most would rather call it prose.
He’s a 'poet’
Still somehow nobody knows it.
Literary elements? Close.
Too literal, yet his steam blows.

This is day 28 of my month long rondelet marathon! While I understand I am most certainly not the best poet in the world, and I don't always right in form, I attempt to give my poems very calculated structure. Rondelets, for example, are a simple french form. Richard Blanco, my least favorite poet of all time, doesn't even bother respecting form. No mind to how much recognition he gets, Nicki Minaj gets around the same but I would not call her skilled.
