Words can never be taken away, they’ll imprint in your mind until your subconscious repeats them until you fall asleep.
You become obsessed with words, they retain so much power against you, even if you try to repeat they don’t define you.
But when you don’t have a clear perception of yourself, is pretty easy to let them mark you, to the point you feel that’s all you are.
No matter how hard you try to get them out of your mind, they stay there, making your brain their new hostage.

Words something that will forever haunt you, try to eat you alive, because they are sharper than any animal’s teeth.
They cut deeper, cause more devastation than a bite of a shark. They leave permanent scars on your brain.
Sometimes, time will help and perhaps they will slowly fade away, but the memory will prevail. Forever there.

All you have to do is try to not let bitter words come out of your mouth, as angry as you might feel.
Or just because you’re doing it in the name of being honest. Sometimes remaining silent is the best thing you could do.
And I’m not claiming to be an expert, the Lord knows I always say too much, without a second thought.
I have hurt so many people for things I didn’t mean, but I’m slowly learning, even if it doesn’t seem like it.
I’m trying to be a better person, even if it’s perceived as the opposite, I can’t change in a day. I’m still healing.
