This morning, I woke up early
But my fogged-up brain still asleep
I can’t think; and function barely,
No brilliant verses from the keep!
So I got up, drank my coffee
Maybe my circadian will beep
Regrettably, I’m still groggy
Today’s mental block looks so deep
I stared outside, the sky is gray
The birds outside refuse to sing
No spark of genius comes my way
Just dullness in the air, they bring
Perhaps the world will have its say
And keep my mind from taking wing
No clever rhyme will come today
So back to bed! I’ll let it sting
Therefore I’ll rest, my thoughts on pause
Tomorrow’s muse won’t be on snooze

5moI’ve had a few days like this lately, but your inspiration seems to still be in tack here. Your bad days seem to turn into good ones. You’re a true poet my friend. 😊
Vic Evora
5mo@Charlotte B. Williams: 😃😃😃 I feel the best way to handle writer’s block is to make fun of it. I have written a few over the years. One of these days I’ll put them together.
