Reunited

“Time may pass, but the memories we made in these halls will last a lifetime. Cheers to reconnecting and celebrating the journey!"
Anonymous

At sixty years, the classmates came once more
Some shuffled in while others rolled through doors
Some names forgotten, every face looked new
Was that old Joe? No clue—it could be Sue

With blurry eyes, they squinted near and far
One grabbed the wrong coat, tearing off the drapes
Another spilled their drink upon the floor
Then slipped and slid while others yelled! Encore

Their hearing aids squealed loud in disarray
As half the group yelled, What did he just say?
The DJ spun some tunes to spark romance
But creaky knees ensured no one could dance

Yet teenage crushes still lit up the room
Though cataracts had cast the night in gloom
With wobbly steps and hearts that still felt young
They reminisced of days when life had sprung

As bodies age, their souls need not grow dim
Though knees may creak and eyesight may grow grim
They pull the weeds of pride and anger’s wrath
Before such flaws can trip them on their path

They find their wit and laughter still endure
At thinning hairlines, missed teeth, and much more
With kindness shared, they make their age an art
For wiser minds can soothe a creaky heart

Through laughter, love, and wisdom they’ve ignited
With hearts and souls, they leave here reunited
Their bonds remain, unbroken through the years
A joyous kinship, stronger than their fears
