Last sunday afternoon
had nothing to offer
The cable on the blink
due to the bad weather
Trapped inside the house
by torrential rain
The book on the desk
I didn’t want to read again
Comfortably I laid
in the recliner daydreaming
Before long I felt myself
into a reverie drifting
Beautiful thoughts trickled
to my subconscious
That methinks may bring me
ephemeral catharsis
Not long after, I woke up
with no distemper
What transpired in the dream
I couldn’t remember
But must have been gratifying
for I felt really good
Back to my idyllic dream?
yeah! Reckon that I should
Pleasant dreams should always
be welcome in our life
They are messages from on high
in times of trials and strife
Perchance it was divine call
last sunday afternoon
For I woke up with a smile
in time to see the crescent moon
