A Virtuous Woman

Proverbs 31:30-31 (NIV)

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

For a life well lived, we mourn not; we celebrate
Though tears we shed to mark the end of her stay!
And today, all of her loved ones; we congregate
To pledge never to let her memory slowly fade away!

A virtuous woman, her worth far more than rubies
On her shoulders, she carried her husband’s trust!
Her motherly kindness, soft as the morning breeze
But her discipline; although stern, never unjust!

The oldest of six siblings, she was a role model;
In the right path she stayed, ever their friend.
All around her, they remained in her final battle
Showing how much they love her till the very end!

A more nurturing mother, may be difficult to find
Five children she raised in the way of the Lord...
By example she led them; in front, never behind
Now they’re grown, each one cognizant of the Word!

She and her husband, a love story never written;
Yet all can see how much they meant to each other -
The perfect pair, truly a match sealed in heaven;
For more than fifty years, they stayed together!

But when he passed away, her forlorn broken heart
Was ripped out and stayed in the coffin with him;
A rib from him she was, suddenly they’re apart;
In the ocean of life, she found it hard to swim

Now, they’re joined together in death as in life;
The caring, loving husband and his virtuous wife!
Yes, a righteous woman, the Lord gifted us all,
A lighthouse, a beacon so we may hear God’s call
