A Song in the Night
What if?
What if he wins?
What fate awaits us?
What kind of future awaits our country?
A future gloomy at best
A pariah state, the world’s laughingstock
A Chinese province?
The sick man of Asia? Again!
Trillions more in debt
As cronies plunder whatever is left!
Unthinkable! And yet probable
Unimaginable! Yet highly likely
Is this a new trial? Just another tribulation?
Will we be like Job?
First, he lost his wealth
Then, his family
Finally, his health
But even Job
Got his just rewards, restitution in the end!
Will we?
We shall for sure
Let’s not lose hope
It’s a free commodity
No limits!
More hope the better
Have as much as we want
At least it will prevent us
From slashing our throats
Yes, let’s have hope
And faith! Trust Him who made us!
Surely, He’ll send us a song in the night!

3aAll I can say is God forbid! We had Job for a long long time. And angel Satan had been slain many times over. Try again as Satan may, God will always prevail. This is why Hope is still in Pandora’s box- the anchor of our soul, for humankind to sustain the trials of his faith.
