Paris Street; Rainy Day, by Gustave Caillebotte
Tulipsism

Monsoon of my heart

The rain reminds me of you
Every droplet, every thunder, and every whisper of the wind.
Everything.

Just like the rain
You fill my dam when it was on its critical level
You poured water on my dying roots
Making it grow again

Just like the rain,
You saved my life from El Niño
You saved me from dying of thirst

You saved me in every possible way
But, just like the rain
You’re no permanent
You subsided, stop, and left with a big casualty

You left me drowning in the flood of your memories
You left me shivering in the cold longing for your presence
You left me with nothing to hold on to but drenched soil
and shredded leaves

Now, I know better than to wait for the sun to dry me up
I will not let any season sabotage my core again
I will build my own greenhouse
Plant my own seed and bloom as the beautiful flower that I am.
