High Speed Collision

Lying, sidewalk.
Face down, steady
beat, heart pumping;
 
numb to the feeling,
lost to ground.
 
Laughing, eyes closed;
forestalled movement.
Mind on the moment;
 
stretcher please come,
take me now.
 
Driving, 60;
through a window, set free;
spread eagle, flying.
 
The rush slows, for fear
to meet the ground.
