I know I can never compete with someone like that
What a lost cause
Why did I ever think differently
You’re worth the wait
But I’ve been messed up like this before
I don’t want to add another to that list
 
I’m the second choice
The fallback
The close, but not close enough
My heart is nothing but a black hole
Though I love so much I have no soul
So why even try
Why even get up
Just to give up
All over again everyday
 
I could change everything
I could throw it all away
But that still doesn’t mean you’ll stay
I can’t be the one to push you
But I can be the one to love you
If you give me just a second glance
